Painted images appear frozen in time, exploring the seeming paradox of this eternal present in pictorial representationswill give us fascinating insights into how we understand concepts of time, and what these concepts mean to us in our everyday thinking. This presentation will use slides of European and Asian art, as well as a hands-on art exercise, to explore and prompt discussion of vision, memory, and meaning.
